La Cucaracha is a music band that consists of some of the most exceptional Cuban musicians of the Latin music scene in Greece. They are graduates of important art schools in Cuba and some of them have accompanied and shared the stage throughout the world with great names of the International Latin music scene, such as: El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Oscar D’ León, Celia Cruz, José Alberto “El Canario”, Pochy y La Coco Band, Sergio Vargas, etc.
In Athens, where they live, they were the founders of The Latin All Stars Salsa Orquestra, whose director was the excellent Cuban musician Yoel Soto (who has played with Chico Freeman, Janet Kapuya group, Zoe Tiganouria band, Yvette Jarvis and Souluv, Neo Yoruba People) and have accompanied with it, on the course of several years, artists of international fame such as: Alfredo De La Fe, Jimmy Bosch, Orlando Watussi, Luisito Rosario, Larry Harlow, and the singers of the Spanish Harlem Orquestra – 2005 Latin Grammy winner and 2007 Latin Grammy nomination – Ray De La Paz, Hermán Olivera, Frankie Vazquez and Marco Bermudez.La Cucaracha band offers a varied repertory that includes songs of the rich mosaic of the Cuban music scene that have been sang by great performers of Cuba such as: Trio Matamoros, Benny Moré and Buena Vista Social Club, as well as their own adaptations of well-known songs of salsa romántica, and compositions of Yoel Soto, director of the orquestra.
